My Approach to Helping
Individuals tell me they want to live a more meaningful life and have better relationships yet feel stuck, experience anxiety or are challenged by conflicts despite their best intentions.
I help individuals move through difficult periods and work through issues by first focusing on a greater self-attunement and awareness. This offers the clarity to see what is needed and the meaning and purpose to live with greater authenticity.
It is possible to experience contentment and appreciate your life. My commitment is to collaborate with you to identify obstacles and ways to work with them so that you can relate better with the challenges you are facing, and live with confidence. I am committed to helping you live fully right now, free from habitual patterns of negative thinking and able to move on from the impact of past issues.
My interest is to support you to create powerful and long lasting changes that allow you to live a fulfilling life and realize your dreams.

More Info About My Practice
I have a wide range of experience helping people work through anxiety, depression, relationship problems, grief, trauma, as well as work related challenges and conflicts and have worked in mental health clinics, in a university center and with EAP providers.
I did my doctoral research on Buddhist Psychology in psychotherapy and have extensive training in Mindfulness practices, Cognitive Behavior Therapy [CBT], Narrative therapy, Emotionally Focussed Therapy [EFT], Mindfulness Based Cognitive therapy [MBCT], EMDR, and Brief therapy modalities. I use interventions appropriate to address individual's specific issues using evidence-based research and training.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I feel privileged to work with people to transform obstacles into challenges that can be met as they reconnect to their inherent strengths. I have seen people resolve the impact of trauma in their lives, work through panic and manage anxiety, rebuild their relationships even when they had almost lost all hope of connection with their partners. Sharing those moments is always an incredible experience of trust.

Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work

My study of Buddhist psychology has been personally transformative and insightful for my practice. It has shown me that it is possible to be flexible in how we relate with our own experience and with others. My training and experience in mindfulness practices has afforded me the ability to stay present amidst great difficulties and to help others realize that everything is workable. Then I am strategic in using interventions appropriate to address their specific issues given evidence-based research and advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Approaches, and Mindfulness based cognitive therapy as well as trauma resolution models.
