My Approach to Helping
Whether we are struggling with day-to-day stress, depression, mood disorders, or addictions, we all share a common journey toward healing. I have a passionate desire to walk beside my clients and help illuminate that dark path on the journey toward wellness.
I've wanted to work with people for as long as I can remember, and I am the most fulfilled when I am engaged with them, bearing witness to their life situations, emotions, and dreams.
What does this mean for my clients? Sessions typically feel like normal, relaxed conversations, without pressure or judgment. While listening to you tell your story, I will also "listen for meaning" so that I can help you focus on what is going right in your life.
This is known as a "strength-based approach." It also means that I promise to be real with you. I am not one to sugar coat feedback about clients' behaviors, preferring instead, to "play it straight" and "tell it like it is."
