My Approach to Helping

Life brings many challenges to all of us. Therapy is one way we can choose to engage, explore, and experience the parts of our lives that are causing pain and suffering. I provide therapy designed as a process of healing that is safe and supportive where together we work through life challenges from an attitude of openness and acceptance. It is my belief that in a warm, empathic, nonjudgmental and non-threatening therapeutic environment we can learn to attend to our feelings and our thoughts in a growth promoting way. My aim is to create a safe atmosphere for you to develop insight and awareness, explore and experience emotional growth, discover deeper meaning and make possible the opportunity for new experiences. The goals of therapy may be best summed up by the words of the psychologist Leslie Greenberg who said, "the more one can laugh when happy, cry when sad, use anger to set limits, make love passionately, and give and receive tenderness fully and openly, the further one is from suffering." In this spirit, I hope to offer you something of value and usefulness tailored to your unique needs, desires, and circumstances in a relationship founded on trust, empathy, and compassion. Please communicate with me if I can be of service to you.
