My Approach to Helping
I am described as kind, gentle and emotionally generous by clients. I offer natural, flexible counseling methods and non-judgemental support.People tell me that they feel like they are coming in to talk with a great listener friend, who is caring , helpful and resourceful .

I have been honored by participating in many people's experience of healing and am hopeful about the future I see people creating for themselves. I have confidence from repeated experience that hopeful changes happen during counseling.
The amazing secret is that when you chose to accept yourself as you are and treat yourself respectfully, that is when change is most likely to happen.

Although I am experienced with holistic and natural alternatives to medication, I also work with people who need and like it.
Our relationships and frame of mind have a strong effect on our health and body.I routinely hear that longstanding physical problems are healed during counseling.

Life is hard. We are all strong in our own way and have had times in our lives when life was easier and coping with difficulties came more smoothly. We will seek to clarify what is important, and what fits best for you.
Finding blame isn't helpful so we look for solutions instead.

Counseling includes support, guidance, exploring options, and creating a way to incorporate previous strengths with new realities.

I have three children and have had my own life crises so I work from a warm understanding of difficulties in life.

Your needs and wants will be a major part of this process.

Groups I Work With
There is a gym/wooded park within my office park so teens and children can play ball, catch, throw frisbee or have a picnic snack while we talk. Sometimes we do therapy while painting nails, playing cards or board games.

Parents report back that their teens and children look forward to meeting with me and ask their parents to return to see me.

I often work with teens/children who aren't comfortable seeing a counselor in an office setting.
Often these families have had previous unsuccessful counselor experiences.

I am a therapist who is Lakota. I often work with people who appreciate a warm, gentle, natural/holistic alternative to traditional therapy and medication.

Couples and families are given a place to feel accepted, without judgement of their style in my office. Their goals and desires are respected as we work to find a way where they have success in their relationships.
I have much experience with blended families and tricky family interactions.

People who are new to counseling find a safe respectful place and feel comfortable with me. Confidentiality is of the top importance to me and I use every method to protect your privacy.

I also see people who are new or uncomfortable with counseling, or people from differing cultures. I have traveled and lived in other countries/ cultures and understand the struggles to speak another language, and make a new life. I know how it feels to not fit in, and be treated as different.
I work with Military families and members.

I see people with religious/spiritual beliefs who want a place where they can be accepted/respected and incorporate their beliefs into the counseling. At times people have been raised in families where religion or beliefs were used to bully or abuse them. They find a safe haven here where we work to recognize, discuss and find freedom from laws and rules that are not the essence of a loving creator.

I partner with Brain State Conditioning (new version of neurofeedback) consultants for help with depression, anxiety, addictions, ADHD, trauma, mood disorders and other concerns.

I work with EMDR (a fast- track therapy for trauma work) for those dealing with trauma, shame and grief.
I use EFT for quick relief, and teach it for people's use at home. I like to offer tools that folks can learn and use when they are in situations where they need support and to get clear of overwhelming feelings.

I also see adult children with concerns who were raised with parents who were mentally ill, alcoholic, or had other addictions or compulsions.
