My Approach to Helping

Do you ever feel as though you need some direction in your life? Maybe you need to figure out where you're going and need some help maximizing your potential and setting attainable goals. Maybe you're a parent who has a child that displays behavior problems, anger issues, lack of self-esteem, or difficulty concentrating in school. Play therapy could be the answer? I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 8 years of experience with children, teenagers and adults, including 5 years of school counseling experience. I offer individual counseling with children, teens, and adults. My philosophy includes helping individuals to identify causes of pain, and discovering barriers that interfere in your life. I help to identify areas of weakness and maximize your potential for positive growth and change. With children, I use a wide variety of strategies that go beyond "talk therapy". I use toys as a means of expression, as well as incorporating therapeutic books and games. With teenagers and adults, I enter your world where you are. I help you discover what problems are prohibiting you from living a fulfilling life. In therapy, I provide an environment engaging in empathy, understanding, and acceptance while moving at the client's pace. We will discover together where you need to go and exactly how to get there.
