My Approach to Helping
In my work, I strive to provide a warm, trusting, safe, and respectful atmosphere for my clients and maintain this throughout the course of the counseling relationship. I take an eclectic approach towards counseling; my credence is that a healthy mixture of therapeutic styles allows me to meet the emotional and psychological needs of my clients. I believe that the merging of the expressive and creative arts with counseling creates a rich learning environment in which the healing process can begin and continue to grow.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist can be defined as a partner in self-exploration with my clients. I work from a collaborative standpoint, helping my clients reach some of the answers on their own. Being open, non-judgmental, and simply being there with each of my clients is of utmost importance in my role as a therapist.
