My Approach to Helping
As a licensed professional counselor I have worked with individuals from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds. It is most rewarding for me to witness the positive changes that can occur in a person's life.
My training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems and motivational therapy has helped clients to cope with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties (couples, parent/child, siblings), grief and loss, life transitions and trauma. Other areas of experience include providing therapy for children and adolescents in foster care, at-risk adolescents, sexual abuse, physical abuse, post-traumatic symptoms, domestic violence and parenting.
I graduated from the Houston Graduate School of Theology with a Masters in Counseling and from the University of Houston Downtown with a Bachelors in Psychology. I am fluent in both Spanish and English and can provide therapy services in Spanish. Home-based therapy is also provided on a case-by-case basis.
