My Approach to Helping
Working with individuals and couples from the here and now perspective allows us to honor the past but not dwell on it; instead we find ways to move forward successfully. At the heart of my practice is the belief that a bright life revolves around great work and great love. Both require careful attention and thoughtful balance which we can explore together, without judgment. I bring storytelling, spiritual, mindfulness, and holistic philosophies into our relationship.

More Info About My Practice
COUPLES:
I work with young couples to regain admiration or improve a struggling relationship. Whether your relationship is out of balance, or you just want to build upon what you already have, I believe all couples can benefit from counseling / coaching. Together, we will discuss what is needed to create and maintain authentic, healthy relationships. I will join the couple in their relationship struggles to improve what is already a beautiful partnership and more importantly, help you stay in love.

Career:
When you're unhappy at work, your entire life is affected. Transitioning to a new job, struggling with a difficult boss or co-worker, working too much (perhaps a workaholic), performance anxiety, or feeling unfulfilled with your career can begin to erode your self-confidence and spill over into your relationships. I have a special interest in small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Relationships are often wonderful and amazing at first when everything is new and exciting. Staying in love is the challenge and will always take work at some point in the relationship. Couples Counseling is one area in which I have additional courses, training, and practice. Whether you a new couple, just engaged, or have been married for 20 years we will discuss what is needed to create and maintain authentic, healthy relationships.

My Role as a Therapist

My role is to be a collaborative partner. Together we will discuss what is needed to create change. My clients are smart, kind, and beautiful people. They have all the answers within them.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I believe real-life experiences deeply influence my work as a therapist. I have experienced the high pressures of the corporate world, moving, layoffs, office politics, being away from family, career change and other life stressors. After receiving my undergraduate degree in Marketing I went on to work as a Sales Supervisor for Wyndham Worldwide. In Southern California, I worked at a small marketing and advertising agency and went on to train for a management position at Enterprise. However, I found myself wanting a more meaningful life. All these experiences contribute to a special insight into the interrelatedness of counseling and business. I have been in a committed relationship since the summer of 2000 and have been married to my wonderful husband since 2006. I am happy to be back in Austin, Texas and enjoy reading, skiing, traveling and other adventures with my husband and 2 Dachshunds.
