My Approach to Helping

I am committed to quickly bringing meaningful change into your life by finding exactly what will work for you. I've found some very quick and effective ways to work with stress, anger and couples' issues. Mindfulness is one of many tools I use to help create focused awareness, manage stress, contain anger, and increase creativity. For those who wish, I can bring my long years of Zen practice to our work together. While I practice mostly Solution Focused Brief Therapy, I know that no theory can help a person if it doesn't fit their own way of thinking and being. For that reason, I put a lot effort into getting to understand you and the challenges that brought you to therapy. That way, that the solutions we come up with lead to actions you feel right for you to take, because they uniquely match who you are.

Problems with sexual expression and infidelity are often the focus of work with couples. I want to you know that these issues, while difficult, are very treatable. Couples I've worked with consistently say that I manage to be fair to both people, help them break the patterns that keep them stuck, see results quickly and see the change that happens in therapy continue into the rest of their lives. I work very easily with male clients, who are often more comfortable with action than talk, and find a no-nonsense approach like mine refreshing. I've also spend years studying creative processes and work with many people in the arts.

More Info About My Practice

I track our results session by session to be sure you are making the progress you want to make. I want to know as quickly and accurately as possible what does and doesn't work for you, so we can use our time together effectively. I help you become more aware of changes as they happen, so you are able to make increasingly concious choices in life.
