My Approach to Helping

Are you wanting to make real, lasting change in recurrent patterns; overcome long-term stress or trauma; develop new, positive ways of living and relating? Would you like to sense more deeply into how you feel and what you truly want in any situation? There is a way of processing that enables you to safely and effectively discover your own inner sense of direction and healing. This approach is called "Whole body Focusing therapy", a process that allows you to access the wisdom of your body, to sense inner feelings and outer movements. In a Focusing-orientation, you learn how to stay present so that difficult emotional issues and challenging parts of yourself can express themselves and move forward. To learn if this approach and my style are right for you, I offer a free initial phone-consultation. Feel free to call or email.

More Info About My Practice

In my 25 years of experience and training, I have found that Focusing and experiential therapy provides the most potent approach to transforming negative patterns. With this approach, we can observe and activate initial steps of change even in beginning sessions, and help carry these new steps into everyday living. The Focusing-orientation comes from a philosophy that change happens when we open ourselves to what we actually experience at a bodily-feeling level. Most clients find this process freeing and transformative! In addition to offering therapy for individuals and couples, I teach workshops in WholeBody Focusing, allowing for movement, and expressiveness with our whole bodily self, a way of forming an inner relationship with your body, For more information about Focusing, see the Focusing Institute website (focusing.org).
