My Approach to Helping
I engage children in psychodynamic play therapy while emphasizing building a trusting therapeutic relationship. The play therapy setting provides a safe place for the child to express their inner conflict through play. That inner child never fully dissipates as old wounds and unresolved conflict resurface during adolescence. This is a crucial moment of development that encompasses fostering self-esteem. It is never too late to explore origins of inner conflict. As a psychotherapist; this exploration must be navigated in a safe, compassionate, nurturing environment.
