My Approach to Helping
As an Orthodox Christian priest, we see each person as an icon or image of God. Thus, each is to be treated with reverence, dignity, and respect. Purity of heart in our spirituality is seen as integration of the powers of the soul. Thus, Internal Family Systems Therapy in individuals, Family Systems for families and groups, and the same for community building, have greatly informed my therapeutic approach. Combining this with radical acceptance and mindfulness techniques from DBT, meditative therapy, and CBT, synthesize to provide a holistic, therapeutic journey for individuals and groups. As a "trainer of trainers" in Relationship Enhancement, the place of empathy is cultivated in couples work.
