My Approach to Helping
I utilize an eclectic approach, but mostly cognitive/behavioral techniques. I am also a Christian and when requested by the client, I implement Christian/Biblical concepts into my therapy. I build rapport really well, particularly with adolescents and love to help people explore their concerns and work toward solutions.
More Info About My Practice
A recent client shared this: ?Eric was able to help us work through our issues with a great level of comfort and we found ourselves excited for our next appointment. We could not have been more pleased with his compassion, experience and ability to help us through a difficult time in our marriage." (couples counseling, 7 year marriage)
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love the times in therapy sessions when people gain a new insight into their behavior or thinking processes that help them feel better in their day to day lives. It is rewarding to be a part of the "aha!" moments and to see real change happen in people's lives.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Most of us are not as aware of ourselves as we think. Therapy is a healthy way to really look in the mirror and make changes that bring about greater emotional and mental health. I am very accepting of people and I think my clients become comfortable with me early on in our sessions. I show them that I really care about them as a person and they become more open with me about what is going on in their lives.
