My Approach to Helping
The mission of Minnesota Family Center is compassion, acceptance, and change.
Compassion - being present with you during transitions, challenges, changes, and suffering.
Acceptance - being accepted as you are in the moment with strengths, concerns, hopes, and dreams.
Change - working together towards solutions, reaching your goals, and a life worth living.
At Minnesota Family Center, I offer a variety of collaborative therapeutic services to help children, youth, individuals, couples, and families solve problems and challenges, enhance relationships, and build a life worth living.
More Info About My Practice
Therapeutic Service Rates- My standard fee for a regular 50-minute therapy session for an individual, child, couple, or family is $80. My standard fee for a 90-minute therapy/mediation session is $120. The standard fee for Dialectical Behavior Therapy groups [2 hours/session] is $30.
Sliding Scale- I understand that it can be difficult to pay for therapy, and that times are tough right now. It is important to me that therapy is affordable, which is why I offer an honor system sliding scale based on income. If you are interested in the sliding fee please mention it at the consultation or when setting the first appointment, together we will access need and agree upon an appropriate fee.
Payment- All session fees are due at time of service. Payment is by cash or check (payable to: Minnesota Family Center) and is due at the beginning of each session. Credit card payments can be made prior to session using PayPal. All charges incurred are the responsibility of the client.
Insurance- I choose to provide fee-for-service therapy. In order to be reimbursed from insurance companies, you need to be diagnosed with a mental health disorder diagnosis from the DSM-IV-TR. As a fee-for-service provider, I do not accept insurance, so you do not have to receive a diagnosis. This also means that insurance companies will not have access to your treatment plan, case notes and other important and private mental health information. What happens in our work together is shared between us, instead of with an insurance company.
Health Savings Accounts- You may be able to make use of a Health Savings Account, or Flex Spending Account. Please speak with your provider to determine requirements. Im happy to provide you with a receipt.
