My Approach to Helping

I believe that all people have many inner resources for self-healing, and my goal as a therapist is to help my clients discover and mobilize these strengths. I view the body, mind, emotions, and spirit as interrelated aspects of the human system, and believe the most effective healing arises from work that accesses each of these facets. Together, we identify changes you want to make in your life, and we then choose the therapeutic approach that will work best to help you make those changes. Along with traditional counseling methods, I practice two very dynamic therapeutic modalities. One is Voice Dialogue, a unique approach that helps clients embrace all aspects of themselves, to more readily access their inner resources, and to live their lives with more conscious choice, self-acceptance, and joy. I also offer body-centered psychotherapy. For clients who choose this modality, verbal dialogue is augmented by gentle touch and movement. This approach dramatically increases clients' awareness of their physical, emotional, and cognitive experience of their circumstances, which provides the foundation for meaningful, lasting change.
