My Approach to Helping
My psychotherapeutic approach takes into account the ineffable mystery of the person and is a multiple engagement through the relational field, the elicited imagery of the psyche, and mindfullness attunement to focal problematics (symptoms and presenting complaints) in the context of the larger working of the soul and what the deeper questing of the self is seeking to express, honoring in this process the central place that attachment plays in constructing a creative. sacred, and meaningful life. I have written papers on the impact of loss across generations, attachment issues, spirituality in psychotherapy, shame and forgiveness, grief and spirit. I bring a long devotion to spiritual practices (both Western and Eastern) to the rendering of psychotherapeutic care. The vessel of of psychotherapy is a sacred container and I do all that I can to develop and preserve this distincitve mode of being together. I value the richness of religious traditions and work with persons of all faiths with both respect and in a way that integrates their beliefs in a value orientedd process psychotherapy. I am on the editoral boards of professional journals and I teach psychotherapy at the post-graduate. Institute level. I shall do all that I can to help you.
