My Approach to Helping
Are you wondering if your online or in person sexual activity is too much? Is there a part of you that feels something has to change? Are you worried you are risking too much or that your partner or spouse may leave you if they find out about it? Have you tried to stop, only to find yourself back where you started? I work with people and couples that are struggling with cybersex, internet pornography, or excessive in-person sexual behavior. There is help and you can stop. I have worked with people just like you, who have rebuilt their lives and their relationships. I am a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and have specific training in the area of sexual addiction. I use a step by step, goal centered approach that puts you on the path to recovery and will help you get back on track.

More Info About My Practice
Novus Mindful Life Institute was founded to provide a safe, peaceful and confidential setting where men and women can come to get the help they need to live a healthier and more joyful life. Our mission is to educate the community about behavior addictions and provide resources for healing and hope. We are an "Out of Network" Mental Health Service provider and offer insurance billing as a courtesy. Many plans provide partial fee reimbursement for counseling services. We would be happy to check your benefits for you before beginning counseling. You may also utilize your HSA (Health Savings Account) to conveniently cover counseling costs as well. Some clients choose not to submit insurance claims to maintain complete confidentiality.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have extensive training as a Certified Sex Addiction therapist through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals. I have the experience, knowledge and skills to successfully help people struggling with out of control sexual behaviors and similar problems.

My Role as a Therapist

Many clients hope that a therapist can "fix" them. My role as a therapist, however, is to help clients who are seeking a happier and healthier life by providing them with new information and new skills to help them make better decisions for themselves that promote healing and hope for a more joyful future! The decision to work towards healing, however, ultimately lays with the client yourself.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

The therapeutic process for an individual or couple can last from a few months to several years depending on the client and the matters at hand. Gaining perspective, learning new skills and practicing healthy behaviors takes time and effort. Sessions once or twice a week help clients get started and may eventually lessen to once or twice a month as progress is made.
