My Approach to Helping
If you are experiencing feelings of depression, anxiety, fear, anger, denial, disappointment, guilt, overwhelm, loneliness, insomnia, nightmares, have been through some trauma, have physical or emotional pain, I would love to see you. Persons I work with describe me as a knowledgeable, non-judgmental, supportive, compassionate, empathic, nurturing, effective therapist.
You are not alone. You can reduce your emotional or physical pain, improve your physical functioning, reduce your psychological distress, and regain your quality of life, clearly making the distinction between you and the problem as some people may feel like they had some sort of personal failure you are not the problem.
More Info About My Practice
Therapy is both a science and an art, and therapists are scientists as well as artists. Because we are all so different individuals, our relationships and our emotional healings are also different, the therapist helps the client to integrate all his/her aspects and decide what is best for him/her. I agree with Dr. Albert Schweitzer s statement that "Each patient carries his own doctor inside him...."
I provide services with knowledge and skill combined with a commitment to effective, ethical, and respectful psychotherapy.
I'm a licensed psychologist, formerly with Kaiser Permanente and Veterans Administration, and most recently faculty at UCSF Department of Family and Community Medicine, teaching health professionals such as psychiatrists, medical doctors, and psychologists about chronic pain management in a multidisciplinary approach.
My fees are $150. Insurance I take: Aetna, Blue Shield, California Foundation for Medical Care Insurances, and Palo Alto University Students.
