My Approach to Helping

I view issues as developmental. Anxiety and depression often come as signals. They tell us work is needed to overcome obstacles in continuing to potentiate our lives. They usually occur either in the work arena or in relationships or both. Also, unresolved past traumas - ie. early parent loss, emotional unavailability of parents, divorce, alcoholism, to name a few. These unresolved events can block development and subsequently produce a sense of despair. I specialize in getting to the 'root' of issues; helping to resolve that which has not been adequately dealt with, thereby facilitating development to resume. I am one of a group of six clinicians, each with an area of favored expertise. One of us is exceptionally good with couples, another with young children and adolescents, another with adults. We empathize with and understand multicultural, mixed-religion, and melded families.
