One size does not fit all. My approach to helping people is unique to the individual person. One size does not fit all. Listening to a person's life story helps me to understand their own world view and how they are perceiving their current circumstances. Many people come into counseling because the pain they are experiencing has become so intense they are doing something about it. Good for them! Asking for help is a huge first step and indicates a person has courage. Your Cheerleader in Life As a counselor I provide encouragement, validation, someone with whom to identify and explore options for your life, ways to cope with your immediate situation, and assistance in longer-term healing, discovery, and planning. I especially help you to see and come to value your own strengths and uniqueness. I see myself as taking a journey with a person and helping them go through the difficulties to get to a place where their lives and values are in sync.
More Info About My Practice
Midlife: Crisis? Or Opportunity? I especially enjoy working with people who are in mid-life stage of adulthood. After 20 years working in the business world as a human resources manager I made my own mid-life career transition to become a counselor because I felt the need to do something that would make a more meaningful impact. This is a common theme for people in midlife as they reassess the direction for the second half of their lives. As our economy and workworld changes I want to help people become empowered so they do not have to stay in a job or life situation that makes them unhappy. At mid-life we start to ask "Is that all there is?" and find out that life is shorter than we thought. Come find the purpose for the second half, the autumn of your life.
