My Approach to Helping
Change is the only constant in life, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is easy! Pain is an indicator that something isn't working and it is time for change. Like most things worthwhile, change requires hard work. Guiding you through the process of change is my lifework. Whatever your struggle, I'm here to work through it with you --you are not alone! My eclectic approach includes a background in sports psychology and positive psychology, which puts a unique twist on my work, as I strive for my client's, "optimal performance." If you want to change your life, change your mind!

I consider myself a generalist and view humanity as more similar than different. I am a, "change agent," and specialize in life. It is an honor to join you on the journey of growing into yourself.

My background in Positive & Sport Psychology puts a unique twist on my practice because I don't just strive to get my clients back to normal, I strive to get them to their best selves!

More Info About My Practice
I'm currently accepting new clients! I don't accept insurance yet, but anticipate coverage in the next few months. You can request an appointment online at: http://www.performancepsyc.com/AppointmentRequest.en.html

To begin the process, please schedule an intake appointment for us to be better acquainted. Please complete the preliminary paperwork prior to arrival and bring it with you to the first session. Intake interviews are $50 for 50 minutes. Paperwork can be found at: http://www.performancepsyc.com/HelpfulForms.en.html

Research suggests, and I believe, that the connection between the therapist and client has the most powerful impact upon therapy's effectiveness. If we're a match, I recommend weekly sessions to achieve the desired result. Sessions are $50 and last 50 minutes. I accept cash, checks and credit card payments.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

The purpose of therapy is to grow, improve coping skills, and overcome challenges!

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love everything bout being a therapist --it is my life work! I feel so honored that my clients confide in me with their struggles and successes. I love sowing seeds and watching my clients grow them.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

The most important factors in choosing a therapist are: (1) feeling comfortable and safe with your therapist, like you can tell them anything, (2) convenience (proximity to home & availability of weekly appointment time) (3) affordability (for continued attendance).

Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work

I'm eclectic in my approach --I use what works!

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The client-therapist relationship has proven to be the most powerful agent of change in therapy. That said, I only take on clients whom I connect with, feel qualified to work with, and who feel that this is a comfortable and safe place to share what is really going on in their life and mind.
