My Approach to Helping
Deborah's approach is reflected in the metaphor, "polishing the stone." She gets her clients to talk about various events, good and bad, in the past and present. As they are talking, Deborah is attuned for subtle changes that reveal when the client is most "alive". She then helps the client return to feeling their best, feeling their true self. From a position of strength, the client can then work on issues without being mired in the mud. Deborah trained as a medical doctor at the University of Toronto. She decided not to maintain that path, however, and her services are not covered by OHIP. Through her years of traditional experience, Deborah engages in a conversation with her clients and eventually she gets a full history without ever conducting a formal interview.
