My Approach to Helping
Life's journey is full of blessings and difficulty. Sometimes feelings of pain and heartache or anxiety and frustration dominate our life. I enjoy helping you see hope through healing and growth! I believe every person is valuable and my approach to counseling is non-judgmental, caring, and solution focused. I believe counseling is an essential part of a person's ability to live the life they desire and I enjoy helping people see hope through healing and growth to a place of harmony. I recommend regular "Mental Health Checkups" in order to stay healthy mentally and emotionally.

More Info About My Practice
I use a bi-lateral stimulation technique called EMDR that helps you push through painful emotions and thoughts to a place of peace and positivity. My desire is to provide a safe and non-judgmental setting where you can begin to nurture yourself toward health and healing. In addition to EMDR training, I am also trained in R-TEP (an EMDR protocol for Recent Traumatic Episodes). I am certified in Anger Management, a graduate of the Florida Sex Therapy Training Institute, a facilitator for Prepare-Enrich Couples Counseling, and trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

I believe psychotherapy is the exercise needed to obtain and maintain strong emotional and mental health. Just as we need to practice physical exercise to keep our body strong and healthy, we need to practice mental and emotional exercises to keep our mind and spirit strong. Research shows that when we are emotionally stable we are more healthy physcially and vice-versa. For this reason, I believe psychotherapy should be a part of every person's health care routine throughtout the life span.

My Therapy Focus

The focus of my therapy work is to provide a safe and non-judgemental environment where people can find hope and realize that life harmony can be achieved through the healing experience.
