My Approach to Helping

As seen on the Dr. Phil show, Dr. Lopez is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with individual adults, couples, groups, children, adolescents, and families experiencing a variety of problems. She will help you to explore your problems in a comprehensive and holistic manner while simultaneously working toward solutions you can begin implementing today. Dr. Lopez also provides coaching for those interested in personal growth and reaching a more satisfied and fulfilling state of being.

Her training is as a scientist-practitioner, which means she is educated in both the applied clinical aspects of psychology as well as the experimental research that it is built upon. Dr. Lopez therefore utilizes empirically supported therapies (i.e., treatments that through research have demonstrated positive outcomes).

Dr. Lopez' educational background includes: B.A. in Psychology from the University of California-Berkeley; M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia; clinical internship at the University of Illinois-Chicago; post-doctoral fellowship at ASU; and clinical residency at a local psychology clinic.

Dr. Lopez has appeared on the Dr. Phil show as a treating psychologist. She also has appeared on local news/information programs. Dr. Lopez has been published in both scholarly journals and in books pertaining to mental health and treatment. She also has been quoted in several newspapers and national magazines.
