My Approach to Helping
Are you feeling depressed and anxious? Are you struggling with your relationships, job, life transitions, or other emotional issues? Do you feel alone in your relationships? Would you like to change some of your old patterns of living? Would you like to experience more wholeness, well-being and authenticity in your life? Today you have taken the first step toward change. Today can be the beginning of new things in your life.
My training as a Marriage and Family Therapist has helped me to understand and deal with the root cause of the struggles you may be facing. We work together not only to understand and lessen the struggles you are facing, but to make changes that last.
I work with individuals and couples and am passionate about helping people raise their level of self-awareness and transform themselves and their relationships into what they have always wanted.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Life can be good, things can be going okay. Life is working out like we want it to, so why make any changes? But what happens, when life shifts. The spouse you thought would always love and be faithful to you, has an affair. The child you thought would be successful and bring you joy, has become moody and disrespectful. A promotion you thought would come your way, is given to another and your review reflects some negative feedback about how you get along with people. Suddenly you find yourself caught in the throes of a behavior that you can't control and can't stop. Where do you turn for help? A wise person once said that "Pain is a reset button. We are willing to change when the pain of remaining the same is greater than the pain of change." Psychotherapy is the process of change that brings about new patterns of behavior, new thoughts, actions and capacities for growth that result in wholeness and healing. Psychotherapy is a relationship where you can be real and authentic. As the process unfolds, you begin to know yourself in a new way and understand the dynamics that have created who you are. Your life and relationships change because you change. Life becomes good again, not necessarily because your circumstances are different, but because you are.
