In graduate school I was trained to use client-based therapy. In my first counseling job, I also learned about family systems therapy. I typically use both in my practice. I believe each client has the potential to heal, if he/she desires. The therapeutic relationship is key also. The therapist must establish a rapport with the client for healing to take place.
More Info About My Practice
Over the years, I've become interested in a holistic approach. I believe the client must be healed in mind, body and spirit. I have struggled with my own chronic pain issues and feel called to help others with the same. I've come to feel that supportive group therapy is most beneficial for those struggling with pain, particularly "invisible" illnesses or conditions. Group therapy will be the main vehicle for healing, while more intense individual therapy is available to address issues that aren't appropriate to the group setting. Motivational consultations will also be offered to clients to ensure clients success by my business partner. Please visit my blog called "Therapy Notes" at http://cary-chronicpainblog.blogspot.com.
