My Approach to Helping
People are amazingly creative and resilient by nature. As a therapist, I see every day that we all carry within ourselves the seeds of our growth and healing. I help by listening, responding with honesty and respect, and paying close attention to what my client's psyche might be saying to us both. I think that our psyches are always trying to talk to us. Slowing down to listen can help with a wide range of issues, from relationship problems to depression and anxiety and other mental-health symptoms. A good therapeutic relationship helps make it safe to work through difficult experiences and find new ways out of old traps and impasses.

When I began my career I focused on helping survivors of abuse and trauma. Over time I became even more passionate about helping people develop a healthy sense of self. My background in both trauma and the sense of self helps with a wide range of issues for individuals ages 12 and up, and couples. One of the things I like most about my work is learning from the people who see me for therapy.
