My Approach to Helping

People generally seek help when they are feeling disconnected or when their lives feel out of control. They may have concerns about sex and relationships. Does this sound familiar? I am a Board Certified Sex Therapist with more than 15 years experience helping individuals and couples who are struggling with loss of intimacy, compulsive behaviors, or a history of abuse. I use cognitive-behavioral interventions, introducing tools and strategies that you can use immediately to implement positive change. I am certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is a very effective method of dealing with phobias, traumatic memories and disturbing thoughts, often in only a few sessions. My philosophy is that everyone wants to be more than they are, that we are spiritual beings who seek to be connected to others but fear that connection as well. I help them to build on their strengths and explore how they prevent themselves from getting what they want.

Some of the issues I have helped people deal with are depression, anxiety, sexual concerns, addictions, phobias, grief, and abuse. I help couples learn to communicate more effectively to improve all aspects of their lives together. I have day and evening hours, as well as Saturdays to fit your schedule.
