My Approach to Helping
I bring more than 20 years of experience as a counselor and teacher to my work with individuals, families and couples. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), as well as a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC). As a counselor, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am certified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Over years of experience and research, I have developed my own 5-stage Model of Change. This model utilizes strategies from an array of therapeutic models, including Social Learning Theory, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Exposure Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In counseling, I use a combination of research-based techniques, gentle confrontation, and humor to help you overcome your current hardships and maximize your many talents and skills to accomplish your goals.
