My Approach to Helping

I help individuals, couples and families understand and learn to deal more effectively with difficult realities they face - realities that stir up the feelings of anxiety, depression, anger and turmoil that brought them to seek help through counseling. Sometimes disturbing external realities of our lives can be changed but too often external changes are not possible. When such is the case, I then help clients to learn ways to develop the inner strengths that will enable them to find effective ways to cope with and live in constructive harmony with these realities. Each person who comes into my office is unique. Each views the world from the particular vantage point of the needs, values, beliefs and style that nature and upbringing have encouraged him or her to develop. In honoring such, I do my best to respectfully relate to the individuality of each client, whether as individual, couple or family.
