My Approach to Helping
I specialize in Financial Therapy ... helping people overcome difficult challenges related to personal finances (over-spending, under-earning, chronic debts, partnership conflict, inheritance). My expertise also includes drug/alcohol recovery, depression and anxiety, challenging life transitions and coaching for small business owners. Sessions in my office are individualized and practical. Please read a recent article about my work in the Oregonian: http://blog.oregonlive.com/finance/2008/12/interview_with_a_financial_the.html On-going interactions with clients are enriched by my extensive experience as a therapist and also my previous professional history. During the two decades prior to becoming a therapist, I was founding partner of an investment management firm, owner-manager of a personnel agency and member/broker at the Chicago Board of Trade. My belief in the resiliency of individual human potential is unshakable. I have seen people become empowered as a result of the therapeutic process ... and then create better lives for themselves and the people who are close to them.
