My Approach to Helping

We all need different types of help at various times throughout our life. It is my belief that we each hold our own answers but it can often seem impossible to reach these answers without the special kind of help that therapy/counselling can offer. I work with clients who wish to improve their life, enjoy things more and remove barriers to living life as they would want. No matter what your problem I offer my empathy and understanding and will help you to help yourself to make the necessary changes in your life that will enable you to realise your wishes. I believe that there is no one single approach to counselling and therapy that will be equally suitable for all clients. In recognition of this fact I use a combination of approaches in order to meet my individual client's needs as fully as I am able to. I work with an integration of Humanistic, Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Gestalt counselling and psychotherapy. The honest and supportive relationship that therapy offers provides the opportunity to talk things through in order for us to begin to work together to explore and understand the difficulties you are experiencing. This process encourages personal growth, offers the possibility of change and supports the ultimate aim of you no longer needing therapy in order to get on with your life feeling confident and at ease with the world.
