Bringing over 35 years of experience in the counseling field, Bob Davidson combines an uncommon wealth of experience with a refreshing style of engagement and understanding. He utilizes the various practice settings from his background to provide useful direction for clients who may be uncertain of new experiences in parenting, facing a family member with an addiction, grieving a loss, resolving conflict in a relationship or dealing with an aging parent. Clients uniformly comment that Bob offers a steadying influence during a crisis and helps to make long term changes toward a more healthy and productive life.
Foundations Counseling is excited to recommend clients to work with Bob in several key areas: Family Relationships (couples/marital counseling, premarital counseling, sexuality within a committed relationship, infertility concerns, parenting challenges with children as young as three through adolescence and young adulthood, blended families, adoptive and foster parenting, multi-generational families, violence or abusive patterns, addictions and co-dependency, and decision making for aging parents); Life Transitions (career changes, death and grieving, male and female role issues, and vocational choices); and Legally Mandated Counseling (psychological evaluations for legal proceedings, adoptive and foster care evaluations, court mandated services for addictions, custody evaluations, and therapeutic recommendations for courts and attorneys).
Bob is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky with a concentration in children and family services. Specialized training and certification Bob has achieved includes Certified Addictions Counselor III, bereavement counselor, court-appointed foster and adoptive home studies provider, Certified Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, parenting instructor, and crisis intervention trainer and provider.
During his three decades of work experience in the counseling field, Bob has directed a non-profit agency, led a Protective Services Team (Child Abuse), coordinated a 24-hour Suicide Helpline, supervised staff in a school based intervention program, counseled children in Thompson and St. Vrain Schools, and provided psychiatric evaluations with a physician order at McKee Medical Center.
Bob and his wife have been married for 37 years and moved to Loveland in 1986. They have three grown children. Bob provides primary family support for his 91 year old mother. He enjoys biking, golf, gardening, journaling, camping, and following sports.
