The Team Spirit May Ward Off Depression

In many work environments, a sense of collaboration and team spirit is encouraged among employees, and while some may feel that the practice is a bit cheesy or unnecessary, a recent study performed in Finland sheds light on the possibility of such an atmosphere to maintain good mental health on the job. The study found that those who worked in environments that distinctly lacked a cooperative ambiance reported higher rates of feelings of depression. While the inverse may not necessarily hold true, greater research into the potential of the team spirit may yield great opportunities for businesses and companies of every size.

This definitely explains monday morning blues!! The more non-communicative bosses are the lesser productivity one can expect from a team. Dont have time to find out how every Tom, Dick and Harry is doing? Get yourself a HR guy who can be your sugared lips.

Well-known fact, but I shall repeat it – when you are doing something that you enjoy, time just flies but when you are doing something that you don’t quite like, it feels like an eternity… working environ can be made favorable with good bonding with colleagues, and there will be fewer people suffering from depression at the work place.

I have worked in both kinds of environments and I have to say that the ones in which I really did feel a part of a team helped make all the difference in the world. Those jobs made me excited about going to work versus those that are so cutthroat and have people in it for themselves only. I hated the backstabbing that went along with all of that and have to honestly say that I would rather work for less money with friends in a team environment than I would one where I am making more money but never knowing who is going to be there to stab me in the back.

TEAM is Together Everyone Achieves More… this could not be more right…it is so true… Team-spirit keeps us happy at the work-place for sure, I’ve experienced it, or rather I experience it every single day :)

A lonely person is more prone to go under depression and having a good team that you can rely on surely has benefits other than just getting away with going home early occasionally ;)
