Sending the Clowns into Critical Areas

Having a good laugh at the expense of a trained professional may be a favorite activity at the circus, but for many children around the world in poverty and war stricken areas, such experiences have traditionally been few and far between. This is changing, however, thanks to the group Clowns Without Borders, which has been bringing the laughter, amusement, and unadulterated joy of silly antics and crazy costumes to less advantaged children in many countries. With its foundation achieved in 1993, the organization has reached over a million children worldwide, helping to bring a bit of fun and laughter to those in need. Though clowns may not be typically associated with the therapeutic process, for some children, the classic childhood figures are just what the therapist ordered.
