We are afraid of what we don't know. We have had this system in place for so long now that we do not even know if anything different could ever work in its place. It is sad to think that there are so many people out there who are not even willing to give something new a chance to work. Think of how many people the current system is currently NOT working for. Why should they not have the chance to experience something different and new. It might not be the ultimate solution to what ails healthcare in this country but it could at least be a small step in the right direction. And what does it say about us as a nation when we are not even willing to take those chances anymore. Good people are suffering because we have been too "me" minded for too long now. Isn't it time that more of us stood up to contribute to the greater good of society and do unto others as we would want them to do unto us? Just a thought.

Everybody is comfortable with the present states and are afraid of any kind of change or reforms... this stems from innate behavior and also stems from childhood fears that people relate to things later in life and are afraid to go ahead with them, even if they are safe, just due to their childhood experience.

Normal and small incidents having a small effect on a grown up's life is fine but parents need to make sure there is no major effect that a childhood incident is having on the life of their child after they actually grow up. while issues like wars and recession are not under our control, atleast we need to make sure we and the people around us are not haunted by these kind of things. If something like this is indeed happening, then consulting a professional is the only way to go.

Yes, the past does haunt many of us and we need to build upon our confidence and self-assurance to make sure we are not influenced by our past experiences in a negative way.

Hopefully those who will ultimately make the decisions about the best ways to reform healthcare will make those with a clear head and the facts, and take their fears and prior biases out of the equation.
