Psychotherapy in its many forms is applied to a wide range of issues and concerns for modern clients, and easing pain associated with medical illness is among some of the the most popular uses. Recently, researchers published the results of a study in the journal Health Psychology, shedding light on the potential of group psychotherapy and hypnosis to help women with metastatic breast cancer with pain management. The study found that while hypnosis’ role may require further study to discern its efficacy, the group therapy portion of treatment appeared to have positive effects for the participants.

It’s amazing how much good alternative forms of treatment and therapy can be but how infrequently they are utilized. It’s like doctors do not want to go against the grain and find methods of treatment that is not conventional when there are so many resources that could be helpful. We have to start doing more things like this and thinking outside of the box, for those are the sorts of things that could lead all of us to better health down the road.

interesting to see how much being with and interacting with others going through the same problem as us relives the pain and gives us a kind of rebirth and strength to face the issue. this finding should be brought into practice for the greater benefit of all people with health issues.
