A GoodTherapy.org Announcement

GoodTherapy.org is excited to announce a new resource for members of the public interested in learning more about psychology and transforming the obstacles in their lives to achieve optimum health and happiness. We have recently launched our new Public Web Conference series, and are looking forward to adding more events each month. Presented by mental health professionals and experts in psychology, these free online events are designed to provide participants with helpful information on a variety of mental health topics.

Participants can take part in these live mental health events regardless of their location, and can also access the recorded events available in our archive at any day or time. During the live events, participants have the option to speak up in question and answer periods. Please note that these events are psycho-educational in nature and are not meant to replace therapy or mental health services. We invite you–or if you are a mental health professional, your clients–to join us for our online Public Web Conferences!

You can see our upcoming Public Web Conferences and register today by visiting the Public Web Conference page on the “Online Workshops” tab of our main menu.

I am sure that this will prove to be an awesome addition to an already great site.

That’s wonderful news! Thank you for offering this service to the general public and not keeping it solely for professionals involved in therapy.

What a stupendous addition to the Good Therapy website! Thank you very, very much for thinking of us. I’m very grateful for everything you do here.

I know it said it is free to register. Are there any call charges for listening in on or viewing the event? I don’t want any surprises on my phone bill.

I have a question. Do you need to be in the US to participate or can you be located anywhere?

  • Betty November 10th, 2010 at 12:00 PM #9

Good to see that this kind of an educative and reforming thing is being done on your site. What is even better is the interest shown by people towards the same as can be inferred from the comments :)

Wonderful to hear and i know that there are tons of people out there who can begin to take advantage of this and see some real benefits from them. Very encouraging step in the world of mental health news.

Hello, my name is Chesna; I’m the Continuing Education Coordinator here at GoodTherapy.org. I’d like to thank everyone for your positive feedback. We are very excited to offer these events to our public followers, and are definitely looking forward to having you join us!

@Emily There is no fee for our current Public Web Conference offerings. In the registration process you will not be asked for any credit card or payment information. If you sign up for the live event, you will need to dial in to our teleconference center to hear the audio of the event. The number is a U.S. number, but it is not toll free. So, depending on your personal phone plan, you might have charges from your phone service company for calling the number. Please note that recordings of the events will be available for free on GoodTherapy.org a week after the live event.

@Jordan People outside of the U.S. are more than welcome to participate in our live events! Again though, please note you will need to dial in to a U.S. phone number to hear the audio of the live event.

    Thanks again and best regards!

Thanks for clarifying those points, Chesna. I was about to ask similar questions before I had read the comments fully. Keep up the good work!

Bravo, GoodTherapy! I love the way that you’re always enhancing the site for the common good of all. Many thanks. I’ll be marking it on my calendar. This place just gets better and better.

It would useful if you could link to a timezone converter chart on the description page. We don’t all live in one country. :)Fabulous idea!
