The benefits of sunlight and enjoying the outdoors have been documented in many contexts, and those who suffer from symptoms of depression and other similar concerns may be especially able to notice effects with a simple stroll outdoors. Expanding these opportunities for mental wellness, ecotherapy has been expanding as a field for many years, and more clients are beginning to take notice –and to create a higher demand for this specialization. Through examining how people interact with nature and exploring lifestyles to ascertain whether clients are engaging in the natural world around them, ecotherapists present what is, to many, a refreshing way to consider a personal journey towards recovery.

working in my garden is so therapeutic for me and always gives me a lift when I am down

Glad to see that I am not alone. Anytime when I feel down I like to go outside and remind myself just how beautiful life can be. There is something special about being outside that helps me to get things back in focus and to zone in on the things in life that are good and that I have to be thankful for instead of always looking at the things that are bad or that need to be fixed. Fresh air and warm sunshine always make me just a little bit happier.

Whenever we feel lost, nothing calms us as nature does,…the beautiful flowers, the open spaces, the skies, the chirping of birds, the greenery…ah,what a great thing God has blessed us all with…this also put in light the necessity to protect nature,as it is something that is utterly important to us humans.

ah…that feeling of cool wind blowing in your hair and the calmness…with greenery all around and no disturbing noises…that feeling is just so good…I never miss an opportunity to go outside the city and experience nature in the weekends and also try and go to a park in the evening whenever i’m free…
