My Approach to Helping
I want to work with people who are willing to try something new, to try something different, to take risks, to be vulnerable, to explore, and to discover. If we are willing then we can face our past and present so that they work to help forge the future we desire for ourselves.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I am deeply committed both to family and to the individual. I understand that these two components do not always mix and at times are in places of conflict. I want to extend myself to individuals who find themselves in places where they feel ready to push through their conflicts. I want to come from a place where together we collaborate on the process of being true, honest, and comfortable in our skin as we embark on the adventures that life presents to us. If you feel that I am talking to you please feel free to contact me to set up an initial consultation.

More Info About My Practice
I enjoy working with a diverse population. I have been trained in the following areas providing services bilingually (Spanish): substance abuse, domestic violence, anger management, trauma, child & adolescent therapy, anxiety, depression, and family systems therapy. I have worked prominently in the past 5 years with children and teens.

I am available for e-therapy, can provide services exclusively in Spanish, and can do home visits depending on availability. Pertaining to fees, I accept cash, credit card, check, and can Superbill.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love working as a therapist because I love people and the stories that make up who we all are. In the role of the therapist I get to partake of a dynamic experience where I become the audience for people to find themselves and uncover their voice. I find that through mental health and psychotherapy people obtain the voice they have always desired for themselves. In finding our voice we are able to achieve deeper levels of self-understanding, forgiveness, to feel hope, and to be encouraged to pursue the things we desire. As a therapist, I have committed my professional work to meet the following purpose statement, “to encourage people and bring restoration to their lives.” Working as a therapist I can apply professional training to that purpose where I journey with individuals through their stories all while maintaining the integrity and value of those individuals. Our voice represents us and to me we have a right to be heard.

My Role as a Therapist

From my training and background I take an active role in the process of therapy all while clarifying with each individual or family the treatment goals that they care to address and resolve. I find that my role is to assist with challenges and life difficulties in the midst of providing the Client with a safe place to express their needs and interests. Validation is paramount in my support because validation serves to communicate that the Client is welcomed, invited, and encouraged. Subsequently, I believe that most people come into therapy with answers to their challenges and difficulties that do not come to the surface of the individual until they are able to explore and process their experiences. It is in the act of clarifying with clients that we are able to uncover the answers. It goes beyond “teaching one to fish.” Ultimately, it extends to helping realize for themselves that they “already know how to fish.”
