My Approach to Helping

Most of us just want to love and be loved. Yet the path of life comes littered with obstacles and detours where we sometimes lose our way and have trouble finding a way home to our true selves. I see therapy as an opportunity to explore your own life path. I become a dedicated companion on your journey home, at times listening deeply to your concerns, at other times evoking curiosity to see what is around the next corner. I listen without judgment and help you identify the core issues you want to address. It is always you - the client, who chooses the way home. I have ultimate faith in the human spirit when seeking peace and happiness. My therapeutic and life philosophy is the more knowledge we have about ourselves, the more power we have to make good choices in life. It is our unconscious belief systems that interfere with creating the life we want and learning to understand our unconscious motivations is the key to both healing and becoming our best, more peaceful selves. My style is warm, educational, interactive, and at times mixed with humor. I use creative tools and books in the search for Self, seeking integration and wholeness as the overall goal. Your imagination and unconscious thoughts contribute to the discovery process and together, we work to achieve the your goals for counseling.

More Info About My Practice

My practice focuses on life transition issues for young adults, mid-lifers, and elderly populations. When life turns out different than expected, we don't always adjust to the change easily or healthfully. Difficult life events such as divorce, job loss, health challenges or the mid-life passage can call into question what we really want in life. Emotions erupt ranging from depression, anxiety, and grief, to confusion, stagnation or a sense of giving up. Unresolved childhood trauma, family chaos and identity struggles often announce the need for healing by way of emotional symptoms like anger, relationship problems, work conflicts and difficulty coping with life in general. My training in depth psychology provides me with a strong creative, spiritual, and clinical background to support you as we explore the wounds of life together. The goal is to integrate all aspects of your life into a strong, competent and whole person. My role is to support you as you strive to find resolution, resurrection and restoration of your own unique spirit.
