My Approach to Helping
I provide holistic counseling to adults, youth, couples, and families. My passion is helping clients rediscover their inherent capacities for growth. My clinical orientation is psychodynamic and relational, and I have over ten years of experience as a therapist in both private practice and community-based agencies. In our work together, we will be mindful of the connection of mind, body, and spirit. I will also utilize cognitive-behavioral practice to help you build powerful coping tools. Ultimately, I'll support you in exploring your personal history and developing treatment goals, so that you can achieve a deeper understanding of your current issues and reclaim your happiness.

More Info About My Practice
My fee is $90/hour for individual counseling, $100 for couples counseling, and $120 for family therapy. Comprehensive mental health assessment narratives are $300. I offer a free initial session to clients who are interested in starting therapy with me. I am part of the First Choice Network and also offer a sliding fee scale to private pay clients who are struggling with financial issues. For clients with other types of insurance, I can provide you with invoices to submit to the insurance company for reimbursement. Most insurance companies will reimburse at least a partial payment for out-of-network providers.

My Therapy Focus

My focus is to help clients recover their true potential. We all struggle with issues and challenges that can derail us and cause a multitude of problems in our lives. The therapeutic process is a journey in regaining our sense of self and allowing joy into our lives.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The therapeutic alliance is paramount in our work together. In my graduate studies, I received specialized training in self-psychology, in which the client-therapist relationship is key to future growth and healing. One of my first priorities in working with clients is to develop a warm, safe, and authentic alliance, because therapy is rooted in trust. I am flexible and non-judgemental, and strive to meet clients where they are in their internal process. A safe and secure therapeutic connection can heal relationship trauma and set a healthy template for future growth and interpersonal dynamics.
