My Approach to Helping

The Artemis Center for Healing & Growth is a unique counseling center in San Pedro, CA designed to meet the needs of trauma survivors and their families. The Artemis Center is a multi-disciplinary team of Marriage & Family Therapists and Clinical Psychologists highly skilled in trauma intervention. We often utilize a family approach to meet the needs of each family member impacted by the trauma. Individuals seeking counseling are typically dealing with trauma-related issues such as post traumatic stress (PTSD), grief, anxiety, depression, life adjustment to trauma, job and marital problems, child behavior problems, and addictions. The Artemis Center is a tranquil outpatient counseling center in which techniques such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ACT), Somatic Integrative Body Psychotherapy, Eco Therapy & Pet Assisted Therapy are utilized to restore and heal the body and mind

I accept most major insurance, including Coastwise ILWU. I have two interns who accept sliding scale reduced fee based on your income or ability to pay.

 

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am especially skilled at helping trauma survivors as I have acquired many years of additional training in this specialty. I have also been very effective in working with trauma survivors who are also struggling with addiction issues because I have travelled the road of recovery for the past 23 years! In addition, I am writing a trauma recovery workbook for children and I lecture on Trauma & Mindfulness regularly. Because we are a family-focused group practice of 7 practitioners, we are able to service the needs of the entire family system collectively.
