My Approach to Helping
If you're thinking about therapy, you're taking a brave, active step toward positive change. This might be hard to see right now, when things may not be going so well, but that's how a good helping professional interprets your call for support -- as evidence of your wisdom and strength.
Perhaps you're thinking about therapy for reasons like these: uncomfortable feelings that just won't go away -- dissatisfaction, emptiness, anger, or "overwhelm"; relationship problems; challenging life shifts or situations; problematic or self-harming behaviors; frustrating, unexplained aches and pains; or questions related to identity, image, and meaning. I have helped people with concerns like these and more.
Clients tend to find me approachable and knowledgeable. They've described my manner as compassionate, encouraging, and empowering. I start where you're at, focus on your goals, recognize your progress, learn from your feedback, and treat you with dignity and respect.
I work as a counselor because I'm drawn to the science and mystery of human nature and potential. My appreciation for people and who we can become grows each time I hear from someone like you, taking that first brave step toward creating a better life.
