I consider myself a generalist, as I am comfortable working with a broad range of issues. I use a blend of approaches that I can tailor to the individual situation. I specialize in gay/lesbian/bisexual issues, and am committed to supporting my community in tis way. I have over 15 years of experience as a psychologist practicing psychotherapy, and have been licensed to practice independently since 1999. I have been in private practice since 2003. I have experience with young-adult issues from working in university counseling centers, and with elder-adult issues from working with Medicare patients both outpatient and within nursing homes. And of course I see every age in between. I also teach in a graduate training program for counselors, and I find that the teaching nourishes my practice of therapy. I feel that my academic background gave me a strong foundation of knowledge, but of course good therapy requires a lot of heart, and that is something I definitely bring in to the process. ... show more
